What is a DFM?


Discretionary Fund Manager

A discretionary fund manager ("DFM") is a financial services provider (FSP) who manages investment portfolios on a "discretionary" basis on behalf of client/investors. This allows the DFM to make buy and sell decisions in the investment portfolios on your and your financial adviser's behalf. The term "discretionary" refers to the fact that investment decisions are made at te portfolio manager's discretion. This mean that you and your financial adviser must have the utmost trust in the DFM's skill and capabilities.
